Who are these people we keep putting into office? Didn't their folks raise them to be hardworking and take care of themselves? Mine did and I'm getting darned tired of these people pushing me aside like yesterday's garbage and deciding to buy my life! Not only do they want to buy me; they want to use my own money to do it!
The ultimate insult is they think no American outside Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. is smart enough to figure out their scheme.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of the United States, we're people, but we ain't dumb!
Daddy and Mama taught me to work hard, save smart and help others when you get a chance. They also taught me that credit cards were nasty things to be avoided. I learned the wisdom of those words the hard way, but have since repented and chopped them up after paying them off.
Surprise! I learn from my mistakes, which is more than I can say for you folks running our country. With you, give until it hurts applies to everyone except yourselves unless you're giving to your own campaign.
I work hard for my money and you decide I should share it with everyone except those I owe and my family.
Then if I go broke, you smile and instead of encouraging me to rise up to my own two feet, you loving place a heel of despair on my back and toss me food stamps, medicare, and welfare. Should I be foolish enough to eat of those forbidden fruits, you make darned sure the rules attached keep me down forever.
I try to stand tall and provide for my family, but that isn't enough. Now you want me to provide for all the others who didn't think ahead. Those who had fun with sex didn't think they'd get caught. They did and I get to pay for their stupidity.
Those who didn't read contracts or attempt to understand the ramifications of ARM's absolutely can not pay for their mistakes - but obviously I can. My kids may not be able to go to college, but illegal aliens get free programs. (Ooops, that was free to them 'cause I'm footing the bill.)
Enough already. Let me handle my own affairs and let others do the same. Get out of my pride and my pocketbook!
